Questions
How do I join my training?
- Your school sends you an invite link. Open it on your phone.
- The link opens Kula Notes, or the App Store or Google Play if you don’t have it yet. After installing, tap the link again.
- Sign in with your email (see below). You then join your training.
If the link doesn’t open the app, open Kula Notes and sign in. You’ll see Join your training. Paste the whole link, or just the code from it, and tap Join.
No invite yet? Ask your school. Kula Notes can’t invite you directly.
How do I sign in?
- Enter your email and tap Send me a link.
- Open the email on the same phone and tap the link. It opens Kula Notes and signs you in.
- Or tap Enter the 6-digit code instead, type the code from the email, and tap Sign in.
No email? Check your spam folder and the address you typed, then tap Send a new email.
Sign in with a password is only for demo and review accounts.
Who can see my answers?
You choose for each answer. Private is the default.
- Private: only you.
- Shared with your trainer: they see it in Sunday’s brief with your name. It also counts, unnamed, toward the cohort mirror.
- Shared anonymously: your trainer can read it, never with your name, once at least three trainees shared anonymously that week. The brief may quote a line from it, labelled “anonymous”. The cohort mirror only counts and paraphrases it.
Other trainees never see your answers. Private answers never go into the brief or the mirror. Full details are in our privacy policy.
Can I change who sees an answer?
Yes. On Today, tap Edit under your saved answer, pick a different choice under Who sees this, and save. Once the week has closed you can’t change the text, but you can still change who sees it.
A brief that was already written keeps what it had. Change it before Sunday if you want it left out.
Today shows the current day’s answer. To make an earlier answer private, email hello@kulanotes.com from your account’s address and tell us which day.
How do I set a daily reminder?
Go to Settings › Daily reminder and switch it on. It is off until you turn it on. Your phone asks for permission to show notifications. Use the − and + buttons to move the time by an hour or by five minutes. It starts at 7:30 pm.
The reminder is set on your phone, so it works without a connection. Not seeing it? Check that notifications for Kula Notes are allowed in your phone’s settings.
How do I get a copy of my answers?
Go to Settings › Export my answers. Your phone’s share sheet opens with every answer as plain text, week by week, followed by your weekly reflections. Save it to Files or Notes, or email it to yourself.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings › Delete my account and confirm. Your answers, reflections and profile are deleted straight away. You may want to export first.
No longer have the app? See Delete your account.
Is anything sent before I agree?
No answer, recording or transcript leaves your phone until you agree on the Before your first answer screen. You can withdraw consent any time in Settings › Withdraw consent, and give it again later.
My school asked me about billing. What do I do?
Nothing. Your school pays for Kula Notes directly, on our website. Trainees never pay, and the app has no purchases.
School staff with billing questions can email hello@kulanotes.com.
I’m a trainer. Where do I get help?
Trainers use the web portal, not the app. Email hello@kulanotes.com with questions about cohorts, invites or the Sunday brief. Each brief item has Report this if something in it looks wrong.
Crisis resources
If you’re in crisis, call or text 988 in the US, any time. Outside the US, find a helpline at findahelpline.com.
If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
Kula Notes and your trainer aren’t a crisis service. Nobody watches answers for safety, and your trainer is not told about anything you keep private.
In the app, tap If this brings up something heavy on Today to see these lines at any time.
Contact
Email hello@kulanotes.com. Write from the address you sign in with, and tell us your phone type. Please don’t send us the text of your answers.
