Delete your account
How to delete your Kula Notes account and data, what is deleted and when, and what can’t be undone.
This page is for the app Kula Notes: Teacher Training on the App Store and Google Play, from Stoneglow Studio, LLC.
In the app
- On Today, tap Settings.
- In the Privacy section, under Your data, tap Delete my account.
- Read the message and tap Delete my account again to confirm.
You’re signed out, and the app clears your data from the phone. This can’t be undone. If you want a copy, use Settings › Export my answers first.
If you own a school’s Kula Notes account, the app can’t delete it. Email us to hand the school over or close it first.
What is deleted, and when
Straight away
- Every answer and transcript, in every training, at every visibility.
- Your weekly reflections.
- Your profile: name, time zone, reminder time and consent record.
- Your place in your training, including the invite your school sent.
- Reports you made with Report this.
- On your phone: saved drafts and cached data. Your daily reminder is cancelled.
Usually within minutes, always within 30 days
- Any voice recording still waiting to be transcribed is deleted.
- Each Sunday brief for a week you answered in is cleared and rebuilt from the answers that remain. This includes the cohort totals, so your answered days stop counting. Briefs not yet written are built later, without your answers.
- The cohort mirror for those weeks is deleted and rebuilt the same way.
- Your sign-in account is removed.
Rebuilt briefs appear in the trainer portal. They are not emailed again.
Deleted data may remain in our database provider’s backups for up to 30 days until they are overwritten. We don’t restore deleted accounts from backups.
What your trainer may already have
Each Sunday, your school’s trainers get the week’s brief by email. A brief email already sent can’t be recalled or changed. Depending on what you shared that week, it may contain:
- a line quoted from an answer you shared with your trainer, with your name;
- your name in a suggested check-in, from an answer you shared with your trainer;
- a line quoted from an answer you shared anonymously, labelled “anonymous”;
- themes and readiness counts that included your shared answers, without your name;
- cohort totals that counted the days you answered.
Your trainer may also have read your shared answers in the portal before you deleted your account. We can’t remove anything a trainer copied or saved.
Private answers were never in any brief, email or mirror.
Without the app
Email hello@kulanotes.com from the address you sign in with. Use the subject “Delete my account”. You don’t need to give a reason.
What happens next:
- We check that the email came from the address on the account. If you write from another address, we email the account’s address to confirm before doing anything.
- We delete the account the same way the app does. Everything listed above is deleted.
- We email you when it’s done. This takes at most 30 days, and usually much less.
Want only some answers deleted, without closing your account? Say which ones in your email.
